Describe the impact the Winslow Participant’s Report has had on you so far.

Although I made a concerted effort to answer all questions honestly and with my first instinct, my results were found to be positively biased. This came as a surprise to me and in an effort to prevent another request to take the assessment, I answered all questions more assertively (25% more assertively). For example, if I felt an answer should be "somewhat disagree," I answered "disagree" and vice versa. Although my answers were accepted the second time around, I feel the results do not reflect my personality as well as the original submission.

TRAITS THAT INFLUENCE MY MOST PRODUCTIVE BEHAVIORS
(3) Winslow traits contibuting to thier success.Select up to three (3) Winslow traits in your Participant's Report that are contributing the most to your personal and/or professional success.
Trait #1Sociability
My Score10
Why?

I believe my social skills have contributed the most to my success in both personal and professional relationships. Connecting with people, for me, has often been the first step in establishing relationships and trust. Also, employees are more willing to communicate with and follow leaders that they trust.

Trait #2Structure
My Score9
Why?

Organizational skills are not in my core nature. I have a military background (4 years in the US Coast Guard), this is where I learned structure and organization. Embrace structure or do push-ups. - I did a LOT of push-ups before learning this skill. Structure has helped me set processes for my teams and organize systems that allow more time for additional responsibilities and activities. Also, it has made me a better husband.

Trait #3Ambition
My Score10
Why?

I see myself as a goal oriented person (I love to cross items off of a check list) and always want to accomplish MORE. My ambition to learn and succeed has lead me to my current role of COO.

TRAITS THAT ARE PREVENTING MY PRODUCTIVE BEHAVIORS
(3) Winslow traits restraining them from achieving success.Select up to three (3) Winslow traits in your Participant's Report that seem to be restraining you the most from achieving personal or professional success.
Trait #1Nurturance
My Score2
Why?

This came as a shock to me. I have often made an effort to mentor employees and thought of it as Nurturance. Prior to the assessment, I never put a lot of thought into the reason for mentoring. I now believe that maybe my time with mentees was something of a standard business practice and a means to an end for growing stronger managers. Nurturance or the lack there of, can absolutely hinder my personal and professional success. This is an area that I need to work on.

Trait #2Responsibility
My Score2
Why?

I feel like this score misses the mark with me and I would like to discuss further. I am responsible for not only my actions but also the actions of the the GMG and I own the mistakes that we make,

Trait #3Creativity
My Score2
Why?

I have a tendency to "stand on the shoulders of greater people." I see success and follow the systems and processes that got them there. I believe my job lends itself more toward analytical over creative thinking. Because I am responsible for the companies financial success, I worry that allowing myself to be too creative can lead to failure. I believe I can be more creative with my problem solving and motivating employees and would like to discuss this further.
