Describe the impact the Winslow Participant’s Report has had on you so far.

None as of yet.

Trait #1Assertiveness
My Score8
Why?

It's very important that the team you are leading know exactly what your expectations are and how to accomplish them.

Trait #2Composure
My Score8
Why?

I do my best to maintain composure because I feel that in my experience my team will absorb and replicate my energy, and when I'm positive and ready to go it has a positive effect on those looking to me for inspiration.

Trait #3Flexibility
My Score5
Why?

I am a believer in having to go along to get along, and I welcome and enjoy hearing new ideas and perspectives to increase our chances of success.

TRAITS THAT ARE PREVENTING MY PRODUCTIVE BEHAVIORS
Trait #1Trust
My Score4
Why?

I do have an issue with trusting some people too much for too long of a time. Sometimes it seems like they are trying to take advantage of my kindness.

Trait #2Autonomy
My Score2
Why?

I believe my autonomy ranking had a large part to do with not having much authority over anything besides the sales department until recently. Since I've been more involved with the BDC, advertising and marketing.

Trait #3Recognition
My Score2
Why?

Personally, I am not a person that seeks recognition in their daily life, however I am aware that now seeking recognition for my dealership and employees is something I must be more proactive in doing.

Describe your goals for the Profile Review and/or upcoming coaching experience. For example, you may describe personal relationships that you want to improve, behavioral changes you want to make, or discovering how to position yourself for career advancement.

My goals with this review are to hopefully learn as much as I can about my management style and how I can improve. I'd like to get Bedford to a 60 plus vehicle per month store and I truly believe we've got the staff to do it, all that's missing are a few minor fixes and support that could allow us to break through that barrier and accomplish our goals.

I intend on getting my team on board by involving them in our day-to-day decisions, keeping them apprised of why we need to do things the way that we do them so they understand why it's so important when Jim or I ask them to do something a certain way. I have been building a routine that I follow every morning upon my arrival to the store that allows for me to streamline my daily work and get to the planning aspect of my job. Something I've always remembered that a mentor of mine told me many years ago in relation to managing people that has always stuck with me was, "A manager can never expect their employee to be them. If the employee could be the manager, then you will be obsolete and the world would be full of managers. Train them to be the best at their place in life."

In my personal journey, my main goal is to get as experienced and as qualified as I possibly can in my current position and hopefully prepare myself to advance as high as I can in this field.
